Ming Kong is Senior Consulting Tailor of the Weavers' Guild of Ul'dah. Currently assigned to contractual zones of the Black Shroud, La Noscea, Thavnair, Hingashi, and Othard. Adjunct Fields-Material Specialist of the Botanists' Guild of Gridania. Former Supply & Logistical Supervisor of the Gleaners of Sharlyan.

The Kong family routinely names their children Ming - a derivation of their first ancestor Mjnek Djt-Nong. The phoentic evolution better suited the Eorzean tongue while still reflecting their eastern heritage. After sentenced to exile from the forest, Mjnek and his family lived in Doma before his children migrated to the Black Shroud some several hundred years ago. Ever since then, they have been familiar Gridanian residents. They are lived on by Ming the Elder (268) and his nephew, Ming the Younger (120).
